The program handles ZIP (WinZip), GZip, TAR, BZip2 formats and the resulting files are fully compatible with common sofware such as gzip, gunzip, tar, winzip among others.

Furthermore it supports strong encryption for secure protection of files and their content. The encryption algorithms TEA and XTEA is used with a 128 bits keylength.

The software is free for private use. For corporate usage you are required to aquire a license after a 30 days trial period. The downloaded version is the full version. Licensing costs $25.

Install:
- Attach your handheld to your stationary PC and make sure Active Sync connects.
- Run the setup file, accept the default settings (or select other device for install).
- Follow the instructions on the screen, both on the PC and on the PDA.
- You will likely recieve a warning that the software was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile. Ignore the message, all installation executables seem to get this warning. This is likely a bug in the OS.
- The software is ready to use.

Deinstall:
Click Start->Settings. Select the System tab and tap on Remove Programs. Select paolaData paolaZip and tap on the Remove button. This will remove all files and registry entries created during the setup. Make sure that you don't have files encrypted with paolaZip in your handheld since you probably won't encounter any way to decrypt them without the program.
