Trailcompanion is designed with trekking in mind and will let you record your path, save waypoints, follow routes and exchange them with Google Earth and many others desktop software.

Trailcompanion aims to be lightweight, fast and battery-savy so you can easily enjoy a full day of trekking.

Trailcompanion is free software and open source.

Some of the basic function are implemented like:
- Work on VGA phones in WM6.1 (I'm developing with a HTC Touch Pro).
- Ability to track the path and export in kml format.
- Ability to save waypoints and export in kml.
- Preliminary map support with track displaying.
- Stopwatch and Distance meter.

To-Do list:
- GPS access library (currently it is using the msdn location sample library).
- Better power management.
- Better user interface based on Fluid project.
- Loading of waypoints.
- Installer and CAB for first version.
- Map loading with and calibration or google maps integration.
- Porting to other phones (WVGA/QVGA/non touch phones).

- Fixed some bugs with complex KML files.
- Fixed some viewing issues with WVGA phones.
- Now it is compatible with all resolution (VGA-QVGA-WQVGA-WVGA) phones.
- Should have fixed the gps issues with Samsung Omnia.
- Should play nicer with Windows Mobile 6.5.
- Added ability to display map in Google Maps for Mobile if installed.

- Improved power management with support for unattended execution for tracking mode (it should reach a full day of usage now).
- New waypoint management, with full loading and saving of kml placemarks and ability to add, remove on the fly and follow a target waypoint.
- Should work on QVGA phones too.
