It now incorporates a new layer system, which helps make it easier to find and interact with surrounding geographic areas on your Windows Mobile Phone. With layers, you can access Wikipedia info about nearby sites, show public transit lines, display traffic, locate friends and do other things. Just tap the right soft key and click “layers” to choose which layers you want or don’t want displayed. The search feature has also been improved by providing more results, displaying them as little red dots.

Latest version no longer works with Windows Mobile 2003. Would be helpful if this website could please include old WM2003 suitable version still.

I love Google maps. I wish you could save a current location in favorites, so you could find your way back to it. I know there is software available that does this, but it would be nice if this feature was included in this program.

Works great! Thanks for increasing the size of the buttons. Great features. Wish that it would display the little bubbles to let you know of disabled car, accident, roadwork... like yahoo and ms live do. I hate that I can't use my work computer and DL the .cab file directly and that there is no update menu item from within gmm. google/gmm doesn't have any indication of version num OR what the changelog is! I hate how they now make you use your device to browse there and DL or enter a mobile number. Would be soooo much easier if they hadn't gotten rid of the dl .cab file direct. Why do they have to hide it? Wish it could at least partially cache the damn map. Is a major pain! Suggestion 1 - include the NOAA water depths - charts for marine navigation. Suggestion 2 - allow an overlay of weather clouds or some indication. Great program all around!

It works great. Its only flaw is the lack of ability to use cached maps. It requires an active internet connection. I reccommend it for ppc phone users. For people using regular ppc use virtual earth mobile.

They forget to mention on this site that the GPS feature doesn't work with WM2003. It's clearly stated on the Google site though. However, if you want to look at maps, this is for you. The "show traffic" feature is kind of neat too, but who knows how accurate it is, or where they get the information from. Not bad for free.
