Disclaimer: I haven't tried this player. However, just from the screenshots, the interface looks rather outdated. I suggest trying a more finger friendly player such as Slide 2 Play or Nitrogen.

Finally an mp3 player which is (a bit) better than GSPlayer!

Plus points:
+ Doesn't hang if PPC goes into standby unlike GSPlayer.
+ Timed LRC lyrics - really great!!
+ Can program hardware buttons for in-pocket use (same as GS).
+ Can deactivate display, and it doesn't (usually..) wake up when you don't want it to, like when pressing a button (better than GS).
+ Most features easier to acess than the fiddly menus on GS.

Minus points:
- Slow to load.
- Big footprint (1MB even after UPXing =5x size of UPX'd GSPlayer!).
- Volume control stops working after being in standby: need to close and reopen program.
- Title/artist space too small to show info (like nearly ALL mp3 players!!!! Why does everyone copy Winamp's stupid design??)
- No help file: some features hard to work out.
- Playlist only shown on separate screen (minor niggle).

Tips for in-pocket use (ie. display off, all control via hardware buttons):
- Program a hardware button to toggle Display on/off, or you may have trouble turning display back on!
- Make sure "Don't use system power settings" is NOT ticked, or the backlight will stay lit when you turn the display off!
- If you press hardware buttons too quickly the display may come back on, so leave a pause between clicks.

Display tip: make a dummy .LRC file for each track like this containing the track info:
[00:00.00]title/artist/album
the above info will appear as a nice 3 line display in lyrics display area.
Put a trailing space at end of each lyric line as Winvibe eats the last character!

This player is great! I tried PocketMusic, but that program screwed up the ability to have custom ringtones (I make my own). However, WinVibe caused no problems, and is packed with cool 'toys'. Thanks!

Get it for sound quality if nothing else. I've been through TCPMP and GSPlayer and this easily sounds the best. No problems with my slow (200Mhz) machine, but I don't use any "visualisations". Rather slow at starting, the only very minor issue.

I love it... play my music with it all the time... Great visual and sound... Just make sure you download the right version to fit your screen.

Before you start complaining the program doesn't fit on your screen: download the proper version for your device! The main link is the VGA version (480x640), link for QVGA (240x320) is below the article! Enjoy.

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST MUSIC PLAYER FOR WINDOWS MOBILE!! Sorry to yell that but it's the truth. Very powerful. If the buttons are too big download the other version just below

How do you get rid of the whole thing behaving like its zoomed all up in your screen. you cant see aything on the right of it and the buttons are just too large. marvelous software though.

*** [Feb 12, 2007] by Matt using PPC-6700 Sprint
Nice player with alot of promise but most of us like to use the streaming feature. Download a shoutcast location and then open it up. Well this program doesnt seeem to let you do that. Also if you want to copy the location into the URL section it wont allow you to paste it in. You have to manually type it in. Also the screen is really zoomed in almost like it was developed on a larger device. Back to GSPlayer for me.

Ok, but my 400MHz processor cant take it. Its slows down my device a lot, especially when I put on the visualisations, it just crashes... I've gone back to the best yet, GSPlayer is for me.

Replying to Daz - you probably downloaded the wrong version. Try the 400 or higher link listed at the bottom of the page. This will not cut off anything.

Brilliant - was using superb GS player but this has great sound with bass. Is slow loading mp3 but can't beat the sound and it's free! Thanks to the developer.

WOW!! Great program.... Love the sound quality, effects and visualizations. Nice job!!

*** [Feb 5, 2007] by daz using spv m2000
It works ok but you can't see the whole of the player, its seems zoomed right in to the top left of it all the buttons on the right and bottom aren't even visible.
