Description:
Mobile Atelier is a powerful drawing software with plugin-based interface.
All functions are provided as a "plugin" format, and you can select which functions to use, and download new plugins for new functionality.
Mobile Atelier is based on concept "Powerful", to use at maximum resource which Windows CE can provide.
It may take time to master using Mobile Atelier, but once you get used to tools, this software is extreme. I can't tell how powerful this software is by word. You just have to try it.
Mobile Atelier not only provides pen to draw, but provides powerful effects, filters, and more.
Some Functions in Mobile Pencil:
- Uses Full Screen
- Custom key config (zoom, color pick to any key (except application key))
- Beautiful and easy to use interface
- Plugin driven system, various powerful tools

It works great. But I'm sure it can be better than that. (if only some1 can fix the crashes)

The free version has no undo at all, which makes it pretty useless. Also, several dialogues which require text input freeze the program, requiring you to kill it from the task manager. On a VGA screen, many icons are so small as to be indecypherable.

Great software with only one bug that cleanly kills the app. Avoid the one click by going another route and no problem! Sweet painting program that I've made some awesome paintings with. There's a definite learning curve but well worth muddling through...

Doesn't work with the Sprint PPC-6700. Unfortunately this means I still have no program to draw with.

Unbelievable. This is, by far, the best paint program available for Pocket PC. It may even be one of the overall best programs for Pocket PC. I know it's my favorite! Freeware Forever!

In a word 'stunning'. I don't normally bother to write about software I try, basically because I'm lazy! :P But on this occasion, I was so blown away with the complexity of the program (not to mention it's functionality & stabilty) that I felt compelled to review it. In mobile computing terms, this program is a work of art. You wouldn't think it was possible to do some of the things that this application can do on a pocket PC. Put it this way, the first thing that will blow you away is the subtlety & texture that the brush applies. Like drawing with real pastels onto textured canvas. Beautiful!.... & damn, if it isn't FREE too! Try it, you'll love it. Oh & while you're there, grab the plugins. The closest thing to PhotoShop you will find on the PPC.

I've used "Adobe Photoshop" on the PC and Mac since 1990 and feel that on the Pocket PC platform "Conduits Pocket Artist" comes the closest with features and interface. But... I've painted and drawn with traditional art mediums since the 1970's and am extremely impressed with Nefa's "Mobile Atelier!" This program easily blows away any competition as far as utilizing the pocket pc interface with the touch and feel of the traditional "wet" art mediums.
I'm not kidding... with Mobile Atelier I feel like I've got an entire paintbox in the palm of my hand. The designer's have done an excellent job of utilizing the entire pocket pc screen with very little menu items or what I consider to be unusable screen space. The pencils/brushes are very responsive and intuitive. And the layers/masking allow the ability to build upon an image without opaquing-out the underlying pixels.
It does take a little adjustment to the different approach of the program's interface. But after getting used to it, it becomes apparent that the right decision has been made to create a program friendly to the pocket pc rather than make a program which copies the desktop pc's interface on a pocket pc platform.
Again, I must state that I am impressed with the Japanese designers of this program. It's hard to believe that a freeware program actually beats a $50.00 application in many important ways. Way to go Nefa!

This app is very impressive and professional. I have lots of sketches on my ppc. It's worth every cent... what? it's free?

This is one of the best programs I've found for the Pocket PC. Hats off to the developer for such a well designed & powerful graphics application. Almost makes me want to be a professional graphic designer.
