Description:
Warring States is a turn based strategy game developed especially for Pocket PC.
The game takes place in the Warring states period (464-222 BC) in China.
During this period a multitude of independent states were almost constantly at war with each other to achieve supremacy and hopefully build an empire.
As ruler of one of these states, your ultimate goal is to conquer all states in order to unite them into one empire with one ruler, the Emperor of China.
During the fight for supremacy you must lead your army into battle, collect taxes from your people, discover new inventions and fight against terrible invaders and local rebellions.
But beware, your opponents will try to capture you as soon they have a chance and, if you don't find the elixir of life, you won't live forever.
In Warring States you can choose among 8 different rulers to play, up to 4 computer opponents that follows the same rules as you and three levels of difficulty.
Random starting positions together with a multitude of random events makes every game different and the best thing of all: Warring States is completely free.

Man, I would have loved to play this game. It looks so good! Unfortunately, I couldn't install it due to my SH3 Proccessor... Could you please, sometime in the future, code this game for my Pocket PC? It would increase the game's fanbase by far, especially for those using older hardware like the Jornada 548. But from what I've heard, If I played it, I would give it a Five Star rating.

Potentially an awesome game - I've spent hours on it and plan to spend many many more. Just a few quibbles stopping it getting an excellent rating. (1) Unless I'm being really thick, no way to quit out of the game in mid-play. I can only exit through the game ending (which can easily take over an hour) or soft resetting. (2) DESPERATELY needs a save game function! Viking Saga has it, why not this? (3) The 30 year maximum sucks, why have it? A ruler could easily be on the throne for 60... (4) Life potion - am I missing something? Ive never even got close to researching this! 10,000 man-years to research in a 30 yr time frame?? That takes 333 scholars! Seriously, how do you do this? (4) The game seems WAY too defence oriented in the later stages - trying to attack someone after all the research is complete is usually a waste of time. Anyway, having said all that, still a very good game!

This game just gets more BORING the more you play it! There is no Equality between the player and the computer i.e. on collecting Tax, the computer will almost ALWAYS collect 2 to 6 coins MORE than the Human player! If you want to download a BORING game... this is the one for you!!!

Hehe. Atleast you guys only wasted time researching a life potion which never amounted to anything in a game. Think of how the ancient Chinese Emperiors felt.

It's the best freeware strategy game that I've run across. Life potion should do something.

Would be a lot better if the life potion actually did SOMETHING. I wasted so much time trying to research it and what happened? I DIED OF OLD AGE! Both times I researched it! What kind of life potion is THAT!? Otherwise it's a good game.
