You need to install .NET Compact Framework 2.0 in order to run Pocket Sudoku.

Pocket Sudoku v1.0 has been released with a whole bunch of new features compared to the earlier versions. Go and get it now.

Features:

• Generate puzzles using five different difficulty levels.
  The next puzzle is generated while you're playing the current one. Therefore, you don't have to wait when starting a new puzzle.
• Solve puzzles.
  The application can solve any valid puzzle by using the Brute force algorithm, and most other puzzles by using the Intelligent algorithm.
• Pencil marks.
  Choose between automatic and manual pencil marks.
• Hints.
  Get help when you've got stuck by using our intelligent 3-step hints-feature.
• Colour Solving.
  You have four different colours at your supply.
• Symmetry.
  Symmetrical number placement makes the puzzles more attractive.
• Diagonals.
  Add another dimension by using both the diagonals in the same way as any row or column.
• Squiggly.
  Oddly shaped puzzles look funny, but follow the same rules as any other puzzle.
• Grid Size.
  In Pocket Sudoku, you can choose to play puzzles ranging from 2*2 (numbers 1-4) to 4*4 (numbers 1-16).
• Painless interface.
  The interface of Pocket Sudoku is designed for human beings and is really easy to use.
• VGA support.
  Pocket Sudoku supports VGA (640x480) as well as QVGA (320x240) and more exotic resolutions like 240x240 (square).
• Undo/Redo.
  Step back and forward in your solving progress.
• Save/Load.
  Save the current puzzle to a file and load it later to continue solving it. Supports sudoku (.sud) files and text (.txt) files.
• Statistics.
  Times are saved for all of your solved puzzles and our filtering feature lets you see the ones you are interested in.
• Translations.
  Run Pocket Sudoku in your language.
• Pause.
  By default, Pocket Sudoku automatically pauses the game when you switch to another application.

v0.9 is mostly a bug-fix release, but we've managed to add some new features as well:
- Check progress & Undo to valid - You can now check if your current progress is correct, without asking the application to solve the whole grid. If it's not correct, you're asked if you want to recover the last valid state and continue from there.
- Detect and use system language - The default language of a clean Pocket Sudoku installation is now your system's language, if it's included in the release. Thanks to the users who translated this version, so that the game can ship with a total of 11 languages:

- A slight change in the solving algorithm makes it generate harder puzzles (but if you want a real challenge, play a very hard game and turn off the automatic pencil marks).

Great game! The "pencil marks" feature is extremely helpful and easy to use and the hints feature is excellent (hints start out as general suggestions and get more specific if you require more help). By playing this game on the higher skill levels and asking for hints when you get stuck, you can actually "learn" the processes necessary to solve any sudoku puzzle of any difficulty. This game has made me better at sudoku and is an excellent way to spend a few minutes motivating your mind at the end of a busy day.

Good game. Nice and easy to use interface. Learn to use it within 10 minutes.
