The provided dictinary is based on OPTED, a public domain version of Webster's 1913 Unabridged English dictionary. With over 180 thousand entries, you'll never be let down.

PocketDict can be expanded with its multiple dictionary support. Any number of PocketDict dictionaries can be loaded and switched from the menu. Additionally, UTF8-encoded dictionary support added in v1.1 allows you to use dictionaries with international character sets.

Features include root-based and multi-thread searching, making it easier and faster to find words. Support for Cleartype, custom font size, allow you to customize your display, and a dictionary locator will search your Pocket PC for in a matter of seconds.

Currently PocketDict only supports the ARM processor on the Pocket PC platform.

I've converted some additional dictionaries to PocketDict. Amongst them are the CIA World Factbook, some thesaurusses and a bunch of technical references. I've also converted some translation dictionaries (from and to the dutch language for now, but I will add more later on), but they aren't really usable yet (read the note at the top of the page). A great piece of kit! If you also get the SlovoEd multilingual dictionaries you can look up a word then use the 'Other dictionary' key and the program's search engine will hook you straight up to the word in SlovoEd and you can then look at the translation for the word in your desired language! Brilliant, for free! The opted dictionary database seems pretty antiquanted so I'l goning to have a look at the Encarta one. Does anyone else have any wicked tips?

This is a great dictionary, especially in a pocket format. You couldn't ask for more. With the addition of other tools, such as a thesaurus, it's capabilites are endless.
