The rendering engine is a port of Xpdf.

PocketXpdf has been tested on an ASUS MyPal running Windows Mobile 2003 and on a Dell Axim X51v running Windows Mobile 5.0. It has not been tested on earlier versions, so it cannot be guaranteed that it will work on these systems.

Known bugs and limitations:
- Zooming in too far will make the program run out of memory and cancel the zooming.
- Some PDF files may crash the program. Please report!
- No support for non-western character encodings.
- No support for PocketPC 2002 or older Smartphone editions.

Worked fine on all the pdf's I tried, including ones with Japanese text and ones with lots of graphics, but very slow at rendering pages, and somewhat fuzzy antialiasing I thought. Also you can't rewrap text to fit screen unlike Abode's huge monstrosity allegedly can (not that I've tried it). PDF is a lousy format, esp. for PPCs but if you really have to read PDFs on a pocket pc then this is capable of rendering them.

Great program, but why did you change it from CAB to EXE? That guy just thanked you for making it CAB and you went and changed it.

Unzipped the files, put them in the program files on my card and opened the program, selected associate for all pdf's and it then orked as the default viewer for email attachements. AWESOME! THANKS!

The best PDF reader I ever had. 1 time rendering of a page. Text only viewing. Perfect.

Thanks to Mr. Eifert, I can now read PDF files on my Sprint 6700 Windows Mobile 5 device. Three features of this nice program are notable to me: 1) zooming works quite well to enlarge text, 2) I love the "Text only" setting that rescales text to fit screen width, thus eliminating need to scroll vertically to read an entire line, and 3) graciously providing the download in the .CAB format, making it possible for me to actually install application on my device quickly, easily and directly...something which I have not been able to do using .zip or .exe formats due to problems w/active sync. Thank you, sir, from a grateful fan of your programming efforts!
