Description:
easySMS is for easily sending SMS from your Pocket PC, Handheld PC or Palm-size PC by infrared-connection or cable with your mobile.
To install easySMS onto your Pocket PC extract the zip-archive on your PC and copy easySMS.exe to your Program-directory (using "Active Sync" and "Explorer") on your Pocket PC.
Note:
- You can use the following characters for a mobile number: "+() 012-/3456789". Other characters can't be used. Don't use numbers like "+49 0175 12345", use "+49 175 12345" or "+49 (0)175 12345".
- With some mobiles (like Siemens S35) it's not possible to send all provided special characters (not supported by mobile). Look at the manual of your mobile, which special characters are supported!
- If you have set the Greek-character set, you can write in small and capital greek letters. The SMS will be sent in capital greek letters, because only capital letters are defined in the GSM-charactertable.
Features:
- Sending SMS with more than 160 characters (you can send a text which contains the length of 9 SMS) The text will be splitted at a "space", "hyphen" or a "carriage return" to separate SMS.
- Only sendable characters can be typed in
- Large number of supported characters
- Selecting recipients mobile-number from the address book
- Connection via IR to the mobile.
- Support of capital Greek letters (thanks to Manos S. Pappás, who gave me the mapping-table) / Small Greek letters are mapped to capital Greek letters (GSM-alphabet)
- Sending SMS to more than one recipient
- Selection of the IR-port between COM1 - COM7
- Receiving a protocol, if SMS is correctly sent.
For Pocket PC users, you can download:

Simply does not work on my device.

Great little program but has problems on the WM5 platform. Can no lomger gain access to the contacts database in order to get names and numbers (security feature of WM5). Still works by entering number manually though.

Worked fine until I had WM5 on my device, since then I cannot use Pocket contacts any more. "cannot open addressbook database ..."

I couldn't get it to work. I'm using a Nokia 3650 and Ipaq 1950. Can anyone help me out? Using IR connection and I kept getting the "transfer is not possible" error.

Good job. I have tested it with my nokia 6600 (with irda, not BT) configured as modem (not only irda link) and it works fine. I tested it with a 6310i, a 6210, a 6150 and a 7260. My only trouble is with the addressbook; the software starts and return an error saying it cannot open addressbook...

Excellent utility. Works with IR. Also works with bluetooth. To use bluetooth, set up PDA to link to and use your mobile phone as bluetooth modem (see your PDA bluetooth utility's instructions of how to do this). Then in EasySMS, go to option and choose 'BTC1' as Com-port. That's it. You can then keep your phone (with bluetooth activated) in your bag or pocket and just use the convenience of bluetooth to send send SMS from the PDA. Great for someone like me who have hard time trying to type out SMS messages on the phone keypad.

Great program, the only problem I get is when I try to read SMS from phone sim or phone memory. I wish I could fix this, but great all the same.

This was easy to install and send a short SMS but I got an error when trying to download SMS from the phone. For simply sending SMS from your PDA its very easy. (You can test it by sending yourself a message)

Very good software, worked great with my i-Paq, but can't get it to work with my i-mate PPC phone edition (XDA-II). Would be great to replace the current inbox sms system...

Great piece of software for my pocket PC and Sony-Ericsson mobile. Thanks! It will be even greater if it automatically polls for new messages regularly and signals me, instead of having to manually pick the receive SMS menu.

Took me 2 minutes to install and less than 10 seconds to send a quick SMS. Worked easily with my Siemens phone and the SMS flash is a great utility. Nice one Frank.

This software does not work if I connect my PDA to nokia phone. But it works if I connect Siemens and Ericsson mobile phones.

This is an excellent tool for quick messages & really simple to use. No fuss, no drama - it just did exactly what you ask it to. One small observation - when you download & use the software to begin with, you may think that the software ISN'T working, because your GSM phone gives no indication that a PDA has sent a message through it. I would suggest a test message to someone who's expecting one from you, before you assume things have gone wrong - they won't have!
