Description:
This is the Virtual TI emulator written by Rusty Wagner, that emulate all the Texas Instruments calculators, ported to the Pocket PC. It has features like: Switching between ROM versions without restarting the emulator, ROM versions are automatically detected, Save and load the state of the calculator, among others. It will run ROMs from the TI-82, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-85, TI-86, TI-89 calculators.

It runs a little slow in a 200 MGZ Pocket PC, but this is an old PocketPC, maybe in the newer ones with the 400 MGZ processor it works faster. The 2nd + On to turn it off doesn't work.

In the Application folder ("/Program Files/TI Pocket Emulator", by default) copy your roms. The first time you use it, it takes longer to start (just the TI89). If you don't have a rom, dump it from your calculator with the dumper that comes with the VTI.

If you want to add your own skin, you must copy it to the Skins folder in the directory where the program was installed with the .bmp extension. It must contain the same characteristics of the defaults provided (width, length). You can't change the position of the buttons in the new image you create, the buttons must remain in its exact position, and with the same size.

NOTE:
There is a bug that in some cases doesn't allow the TI85 rom to function, all you need to do is with the VTI in the Desktop PC create a .sav file from the TI85 rom (just use the rom and right click "Exit and save state"), then copy this file to the Pocket PC with the same name that has the TI85 rom file.

Update Description:
v2.4B:
- Added support for Skins.

This is very cool, except the website does not work. It is a good idea, though.

The concept is good but I can't get it to work and I haven't been successful in finding a troubleshooting guide or help guide on their site (maybe I'm not looking hard enough?) Whenever I try using it, either it opens and doesn't work (shows the skin but there's a black screen and I can't enter any numbers/etc) or a weird error box pops up with a bunch of unrecognizable characters (squares). I have ROMs for it and it says they load whenever I load them, but they don't work.

Impressive, but sometimes the keyboard sticks: it continues to press the same number even do i am pressing other keys.
Example: 3 x 22222222222222222222
when i tried to enter 3 x 2 [enter]
I tried with 89 rom ver 2.

Incredible. I am very impressed ... a little slow, but incredibly useful !!!

This is absolutely incredible! I loved my old TI89 for its ability to factorise and for its comprehensive unit conversion database. Though it is a bit fiddly and slow to operate (no buttons :-( ) the functionality is incredible. Just like the original, each time you load up, it returns the where you were previously - which I now find an invaluable feature. Eat your heart out, all those people with those dumb sci-calc programs! As far as stability is concerned, I've only had to reset the calculator once when it crashed (the calc software itself only - the emulator has never crashed my device). Pretty powerful stuff.

This is fantastic! All I ever wanted! My old TI92 has never made it back out of my drawer - this allows me to do complex algebraic manipulations any time, on the move, plus the unit conversion is unmissable.
