It does numerous COGO calculations, processes and adjusts field survey data, computes curve data, performs map checks, calculates areas and perimeters, performs coordinate transformations, imports/exports Ascii files, and has GPS positioning and navigation functions.

It supports quadrant and whole-circle bearings, and gons (or grads) as well as degrees-minutes-seconds.

Coordinates may be saved to the Pocket PC's memory card or to a removeable memory card. The Pocket PC coordinate files are directly compatible with the Windows desktop version of Copan.

CopanMobile for Pocket PC - for Windows PPC 2003 or for Windows Mobile 6 - is designed for land surveyors, geodetic engineers, professionals and students, Copan is available for download, completely free of charge.

It cannot yet run on a smartphone (or any device that does not have a touch screen).
