This program represents a nice start but it needs much more work. Comparing it to an old DOS-based program, Skyglobe, which was of roughly comparable size (300KB inc. datafiles v ~600KB for Orionic), and which worked well on computers much less powerful than a modern PDA (25MHz v 300MHz), I would note the following shortcomings:
- Orionic does not show the planets, Sun, Moon, or Milky Way.
- You can't selectively show more/fewer stars according to magnitude.
- You can't interactively move back and forth through time by the minute/hour/day/year/etc in the way Skyglobe does: you can only set one date/time at a time.
- Orionic is slow (on my 300MHz ARM machine).
- Horizontal and equatorial grids are same colour making display of both at once incomprehensible.
- No gazeteer of locations to quickly pick your long/lat.

In conclusion it's better than nothing but without the planets etc and time-stepping I find it's usefulness very limited.

This software lagged greatly when changing view options. However, because I'm unfamiliar with OMAP pocket pc processors, I'm not sure if the software lag is due to the device or the software.

Great software. It can display a good sky map with precision and speed. A must for all amateurs astronomers!

Well I am impressed. I travel around the world and with my GPS, know my co-ordinates. This is really impressive. On the flights, I like to see where I am too, but when I look up at night, your software helps show me the constellations. Like another, if they were labelled, it might be a nice touch, but by now, I know most, but sometimes I see new ones I did not see before, like in southern hemisphere, so would be a nice touch. Was amazed how they alter where you are. Really cool software - well impressed

Wow! absolutely great. I had software like this for the laptop, but this beats it by a long shot, because you can hold it up and see, "OK, that's there, it's rotated like that, etc." Very cool.

Fantastic piece of software. It would be nice if you could see the constellation names on the map though.

This program is awesome! Thank you for developing it! If you enjoy observing the night sky, this is the free software to use.

Excellent piece of software and saves carting around the laptop in the dark!

The start of something good. How about lookup feature... like I want to know where polaris is right now.... would be nice for a drag component too.
