The selection was made by Schools Wikipedia and is available for download here. This application it's a freeware software, works on Pocket PC, Windows and Linux.

Pocket Wikipedia was created to work on Pocket PC systems. After that was ported on Windows and Linux systems. Because the large size of the database file all OS versions of Pocket Wikipedia are distributed in one zip archive.

Good coverage compared to Wikipedia's own "version 0.5" CDROM release which had many glaring omissions. Pocket wikipedia still has fewer than 5000 articles though, so coverage is still rather patchy (IMHO you need at least 20,000 articles for a comprehensive encyclopaedia). So you should take the "15 volumes" claim with a pinch of salt: it actually has far fewer articles than a typical 1 volume encyclopaedia! However the articles which are there are high quality and 50 times longer than articles in a printed work (hence the "15 volume" claim). It's nice that most of the pictures are included. Probably good for school homework or for supplementary reading of selected topics, but as a universal reference work its search comes up empty far too often.

Cannot launch wikipedia.exe from the SD card.

I got an error - 'Could not initiaizate Wikipedia' after copying both files to a subdirectory in my microSD card.
